What you'll see & do
- ✓Meet your guide at the fountain outside Pisa Centrale train station at 10:00am. The guide will be easily recognizable by the sign saying Pisa Explorer. From there the small group will move to the nearby Piazza Vittorio Emanuele.
- ✓The narration starts in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele with an introduction to the history of the city of Pisa and its territory
- ✓A visit to the impressive mural Keith Haring painted in Pisa in 1989, the largest he painted and also his last
- ✓The tour continues along the main pedestrional and commercial street of Pisa
- ✓At the end of Corso Italia we will be on the Arno riverbanks and Ponte di Mezzo, the main bridge of the city center where we will admire some of the most beautifull bildings of the city including Palazzo Blu.
- ✓Crossed the river Arno we will be on the north bank along Borgo Stretto, in the very heart of Medieval Pisa
- ✓Once the political center of the Medieval Maritime Republic of Pisa now home of some of the most interesting late Renaissance architecture in the city and one of the city's university.
- ✓From Piazza dei Cavalieri the small group will move to the Piazza del Duomo for a general introduction to the history of the UNESCO protected monumental complex of the Cathedral of Pisa and Leaning Tower
- ✓Visit inside the Cathedral of Pisa. Dress code is informal. Shorts are allowed; gentlemen would need to take their hats/caps off; ladies would need to cover their shoulders. You can take photos and videos.
- ✓At the end of the 2.5 hour long tour, your guide will assist you with depositing your bags at the cloakroom and entrance at the Leaning Tower that you will climb on your own. Around 30 more minutes needed. End of services.
