Therefore, we started to build upon wooden poles to reach a deeper and more sturdy layer of soil that could support the heavy houses.
- ✓The Southern Church is another beautiful church designed by Hendrick de Keyser. It was built in between 1603 - 1611.
- ✓Today this area is known as the “Stopera”, a combination of STadhuis (Cityhall in Dutch) and Opera. Together they form the Stopera!
- ✓After the Thorbecke bridge you will see the famous 7 Bridges! If you are lucky, and there are no other boats, you can see 7 identical stone bridges in a row.
