- ✓Get to see the beautiful lake Hawea and river that connects it to lake Dunstan. The Hawea Whitewater Park is a real ride for those that brave the cold water. It's Free to use and has two different grades and a smaller wave at the top, which is fun to learn. The lower or bottom wave is bigger and this is where the pro's come to practice their kayak skills or surfing tricks. On any day you might see three or four people lined up to take their turn.
