Positioned on a hill overlooking the city, this fortress played a pivotal role in the gradual expansion and development of Prizren into a bustling urban center. Recognized for its historical significance, the fortress received the prestigious designation of a Cultural Monument of Special Importance in 1948.

The roof of the structure includes two domes situated above the cold section, while the warm part of the hammam is adorned with nine smaller domes.
