National Park and Smoke Sauna Experience
During this experience, you will get to discover the beauty of Sipoonkorpi national park with a professional wilderness guide. The guide will lead you through forested trails stopping along the way to learn about Finnish wildlife and nature. Our trail leads us to a rocky vista overlooking a freshwater lake where we will have a campfire barbecue. After a delicious lunch, we will continue our walk to the smoke sauna (A total of 6km). Time to relax, go for a swim, and enjoy a traditional Finnish smoke sauna. Highlights: • Discover the beauty of Finland in a national park • Easy and rewarding hike with a barbecue lunch • Enjoy sauna with locals in a safe environment • A truly local experience with food, sauna, and swimming! Warming up to TraditionsAs we sit in the sauna which is heated to around 80-100 degrees Celsius, water is thrown on the rocks - this is called "löyly". This sends a wave of heat throughout the sauna, which in turn brings relaxation!Sit, Swim, Sweat, Repeat!After the sweat, comes the swim! We will step outside to cool down and breathe in the fresh air. The sauna is located next to a freshwater lake so dipping in the lake is highly encouraged and extremely refreshing! After our dip, we will head back into the sauna to warm up again. With each dip comes more pleasure and we believe three swims is the magic number. What you'll see & do
- ✓Pick-up: 11:00 A.M. (10 A.M. from November 1) Drop-off: 5:30 P.M. Experience the ideal day of a Finn This excursion takes place 30 minutes outside of Helsinki. Your guide will pick you up from the meeting point and drive you into the wonderful forests of Finland. You will spend in total 3.5 hours in the national park and 1-1.5 hours in the sauna afterwards. The hike is in total 6 km with a few hills and steep stairs up to the lunch place. Lunch by the lake Mid-way of your walk, you will stop for a lunch break which the guide will prepare. This is a great time to enjoy the magical scenery of the national park and explore the nearby lake and forest. After the lunch break, you will return back to the starting point and prepare for the sauna. Relax in the sauna and swim in a lake The sauna experience will last approximately one hour This will give you enough time to have multiple breaks to swim, cool down, and sweat! After the sauna, you can take a shower and change into fresh clothing for the ride back to Helsinki. Your guide will drop you off refreshed and recharged at the original pick-up point at around 5:30 P.M. Kindly note on some occasions, arrival times back to Helsinki may vary.
