Arrive at the Franz Josef Glacier helicopter base. Following a safety briefing from the pilot, board your six-passenger helicopter to begin the 20-minute aerial tour to Fox Glacier or Franz Josef Glacier. With its ability to hover and land, the twin-engine helicopter is an ideal way to gain access to some of the most remote regions of the Southern Alps.
