Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle Half-Day
This half-day tour covers Slovenia's karst country in one morning. You leave at 8:20 from Dalmatinova 10, opposite the City Hotel, and you're back in Ljubljana by around 14:00, with the afternoon free. At Postojna Cave a small train takes you deep underground, then you walk through halls of stalactites and stalagmites and see the olm, the blind cave salamander known as the human fish. A short drive away, Predjama Castle sits in the mouth of a cave halfway up a cliff. Walk its rooms and passages and hear the legend of Erazem, the knight who held out here under siege. Up to 8 guests travel in a comfortable minivan, not a big coach, with a licensed local guide.
