What you'll see & do

  • The starting time is 8:00 a.m. usually in front of Meet Bosnia Agency at the Gazi Husrev Begova 75, but can be arranged from elsewhere, if requested. After a small introduction and giving to our guest complimentary bottles of water, and we start the tour.
  • The Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge is a historic bridge in Višegrad, over the Drina River in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was completed in 1577 by the Ottoman court architect Mimar Sinan on the order of the Grand Vizier Mehmed Paša Sokolović. UNESCO included the bridge in its 2007 World Heritage List.
  • Andrićgrad is located near the Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and stretches from the bridge up to the confluence of the Rzav River. After Drvengrad (English: Woodentown), this is the second village Kusturica created from scratch. Andrićgrad is to be used as a location for Kusturica's new film Na Drini ćuprija, based on the novel The Bridge on the Drina by Nobel Prize for Literature laureate Ivo Andrić.
  • Dobrun Monastery, built in 1343, is one of the oldest monasteries in the country. Located in the picturesque mountainous region close to the city of Višegrad
  • Mokra Gora is a valley in western Serbia, which nestles between the mountains of Tara and Zlatibor. Connected to it is the Šargan Pass, which to the north comprises a natural link with Zborište, Tara’s highest peak, and to the south connects with Zlatibor. The Šargan - Mokra Gora nature park is 10,813 hectares in size.
  • Enjoy wanderful views of Mokra Gora National Park in Serbia under the east foothills of Tara Mountain.
  • Another great attraction is the Drvengrad (‘Wooden Town’) ethnic village built on the hill of Mećavnik on the initiative of the famous Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica. Authentic log cabins from the region were transported to the location and used in the construction of the village, The oldest of these cabins dates back 90 years. Once brought to the site they were placed on high stone bases, with cellars specially built with hillside terrain in mind. In terms of its urban form and structure Drvengrad is somewhere between a village and a town or ethnic village. Guests usually take free time for lunch here.
  • Today the areas of Šargan and Mokra Gora are best known for the Šarganska Eight, a narrow-gauge railway, famous for the impressive engineering that enables it to climb rapidly over a short distance. Alongside the track there are a number of exhibits – old locomotives and wagons which are preserved as examples of the engineering of yesteryear – making this a unique open-air museum. Ride with train (ticket) is not included in price of tour but this is optional part of the program. Guests could decide on the spot if they want to join train ride or not.
