  • Itinerary of Cusco City Tour (every day at 1:00 pm.) Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to explore the main highlights of Cusco and learn about its history. First, you will enjoy a walking tour in the historic center, visiting: Plaza de Armas12 Angled Stone Street (Hatunrumiyoc)Loreto StreetKoricancha (Temple of the Sun) Next, you will take a short drive to Sacsayhuaman, an impressive Inca fortress on the hill above Cusco. It has huge stone walls and great views of the city. Every year on June 24th, the Inti Raymi (Festival of the Sun) is celebrated here. You will then continue by bus to Qenqo, Tambomachay, and Puca Pucara, all located just outside Cusco. At the end of the tour, you will return to the city and be dropped off at your hotel. Places we visit Plaza de Armas The main square of Cusco since Inca times, also known as Hucaypata. It is surrounded by shops and restaurants, many built on original Inca foundations. Important events in Cusco’s history took place here. 12 Angled Stone Street (Hatunrumiyoc) Here you can see the famous twelve-angled stone, part of an Inca wall. It is one of the best examples of Inca stonework and architecture. Loreto Street (Intikijllu) A narrow street that starts near the Plaza de Armas, with beautiful original Inca walls on both sides. It is a fine example of Inca masonry. Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) The most important religious site of the Inca Empire, considered the center of the world. The Spanish later built the Santo Domingo Church over it, but you can still see the impressive Inca walls and temples inside. Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Tambomachay & Puca Pucara Just a short drive from Cusco, these sites show Inca engineering, fountains, temples, and military structures. At Sacsayhuaman you will see giant zigzagging stone walls and some of the best panoramic views of Cusco.) Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at 13.30 pm and take you to discover the main attractions and learn about the history of the city of Cusco. The first part is a walking tour stopping at the most important sites in the city,  The Plaza de Armas of Cusco, The Cathedral, The 12 angled Stone street, Loreto Street, and Koricancha. The second part starts with a short drive to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, one of the most spectacular buildings of the Inca Empire. This site is located right in the upper part of Cusco city, contains one of the biggest monolithic transported from almost 18 km away. Each year on June 24th, The Inti Raymi is celebrated here to worship the sun. Continue driving to Quenqo, Tambomachay, and Puca Pucara, located just outside of Cusco city. After finishing the visit you’ll drive back to Cusco city and dropped off at your hotel.
