Drive yourself to meet your guide and fellow travelers at a central meeting point in Fajardo and caravan out together to the eastern side of El Yunque Rainforest. Once you arrive, you'll hike for roughly 20 to 30 minutes to a swimming hole, learning about the rainforest’s history along the way. You are required to supply your own transportation for this tour. Once you reach the swimming hole, spend some time swimming, jumping into the water, or trying out a rope swing. Later, continue to another swimming hole, located an additional 15-minute hike into the rainforest. Here you can zip down a natural rock slide or jump off a cliff and into a refreshing river before returning to San Juan.

We recommend shoes that you won't mind getting wet and muddy, that have a good grip and a thick sole. Sneakers, water shoes or hiking sandals that cover your toes are the best option. Be mindful that sandals, flip flops, crocs or slides are not allowed as it can be dangerous once wet or muddy.
