What you'll see & do
- ✓Day 1: Arrival in Salta - According to the arrival time of your flight to Salta, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in the city center. You will have the rest of the day to rest and prepare for excursions that will allow you to learn more about the region.
- ✓Day 2: Salinas Grandes - We will leave for this excursion from the hotel in the center of Salta. We will travel towards the Ruins of Tastil to arrive later at San Antonio de los Cobres. Then, we will take a lunch break. Then, you will cross Route 40 until you reach Salinas Grandes, just on the border between Salta and Jujuy. There, you will have free time to take photographs and enjoy this unique natural environment, the great expanse of white salt that contrasts with the blue sky. Next, we will begin the descent through Cuesta de Lipán where condors are generally sighted. Then, we will pass through the typical town of Purmamarca and its Cerro de los Siete Colores before returning to Salta and you will be dropped off at your hotel in the city center.
- ✓Day 3: Quebrada de Humahuaca - The tour will begin at your hotel where the guide will pass to undertake the trip to the Quebrada de Humahuaca through Purmamarca and Tilcara. The first point to visit during the excursion will be the town of Purmamarca to observe the Cerro de Los Sietes Colores, the church and the craft market. We will pass by the Posta de Hornillos, continuing towards the town of Tilcara to visit the Pucará. We will continue towards Huacalera and the passage of the Tropic of Capricorn, from where you can see the colors of the hill called the Pollera de la Colla. We will visit the Church of Uquía, where the Archangel Angels paintings are located. We will arrive at Humahuaca with its important Cathedral and the Monument to Independence (El Indio) by the sculptor Soto Avendaño. After lunch, we will start the return to the city of Salta. Then, you will be able to observe from the route the area of "La Paleta del Pintor" that frames the town of Maimara.
- ✓Day 4: Cachi and Quebrada de las Flechas - The two-day tour will begin with a road trip through the Lerma Valley to the town of Carril. Continuing through Chicoana and entering the Quebrada de los Laureles and then the Quebrada de Escoipe, you will come to Maray, a small mountain village. From there you will enter the Cuesta del Obispo, following a path with abundant curves that allows you to enjoy a panoramic view the Enchanted Valley and the small houses with corn and fruit crops. Arriving in Cachi, there is a panoramic view of the Nevado de Cachi and Payogasta. A visit to the town of Cachi is made visiting the Museum of Archeology and the Church. The tour will continue along Route No. 40 to admire mountainous landscapes with villages of great charm, bordering the Calchaquí River. The Quebrada de Las Flechas, San Carlos and Encourage and you will get to Cafayate to spend the night in this charming town in the province.
- ✓Day 5: Cafayate and Quebrada de las Conchas - We will visit Cafayate, the youngest city in the Calchaquí Valleys, internationally recognized for the strains of its wines, particularly Torrontés, which can be tasted on visits to its wineries, whether handmade or industrial. After having lunch (not included) we will return to the city of Salta through the Quebrada de las Conchas, where the curious formations eroded by the wind and water will be the main attraction: the dunes, the toad, the bishop, the devil's throat, the castles, the amphitheater, among others. The guide will drop you off at your hotel at the end of the tour.
- ✓Day 6: Salta Airport - After having explored and enjoyed the unique landscapes of the northern region, according to the departure time of your flight from Salta airport, you will be picked up from your hotel to take you to the airport and take your flight back home.
