meeting_point: Wynwood, Miami, FL description: #Get up close with murals in the out-of-the way corners of Wynwood! Duration 1 hour About Our Wynwood Graffiti Golf Cart Tours are led by guides passionate about street art in general and this absolutely unique art destination in particular. We’re proud to be the oldest company offering golf cart tours in Wynwood and maintaining consistently high ratings. We’re here because we love this place, and we think you will too! Your expert tour guide will lead you through the Wynwood Art District on a golf cart, ideal for the typically warm temperatures in Miami. We will make anywhere from 6 to 9 stops. Towards the beginning of your tour, expect an introduction with background information on the emergence and evolution of the Wynwood Art District and the medium of street art. Then at each stop, carefully selected to showcase the most jaw-dropping murals and installations, your guide will discuss one or more works of art, telling the backstory of the artist, interpreting the artwork, and lifting the curtain on the secrets of technique. You are free to just listen or you can also shape the tour by asking questions and engaging with the tour guide. You will have endless opportunities to take pictures and at your request, the guide will take yours. Between stops, you will be dazzled by the sheer volume of gorgeous murals blanketing the walls of nearly every building we pass. The themes, colors, styles, and techniques are incredibly diverse and make this destination truly one of a kind. Your guide will also pass by or mention points of interest in the art district on or off the route, such as the Wynwood Walls, The Museum of Graffiti, The Art of Hip-Hop, the Moxie Hotel, local schools covered in murals including Eneida M. Hartner Elementary, and much more. Our guides can also make recommendations on the vibrant Wynwood food scene. A sampling of the experience: See the relief style works of Portuguese artist Vhils. Find out where Wynwood people brew their own beer. See enigmatic works as well as murals dedicated to basketball, soccer, and cultural icons. Murals may be different by the time you visit, but some of the artists currently on view in Wynwood include: Miami native Atomik, Cuban-born Miami-based Adrian Avila, Miami based MSG Crew , 1 up Crew (from Berlin), local artist Luis Valle (Nicaragua), local artist Sara Molano (Colombia), Paola Delfin (Mexico), local artist Didi Contreras (Cuba), local artist BK Fox (New York), local artist CP Won (Miami), El Mac (Los Angeles), and many, many more. Specific experiences may vary due to changes in Wynwood. **From about Nov. 2nd to Jan. 14th, our 5:15 pm tour takes place partially or entirely after sunset, so its route is altered to include streets and murals with the best visibility. What to Expect: Parking: Park at the Wynwood Garage (311 NW 26th Street) or on the surrounding streets using the Pay by Phone app, or have your driver drop you off directly at our shop. Meeting point: Our meeting point is our WAW Shop at 413 NW 27th Street, Miami, FL 33127. We are air-conditioned, have a restroom and sell cold drinks and a wide selection of original artwork, stickers, unique clothing, jewelry, and more. Waivers: As an insurance requirement, all guests have to sign a liability waiver. Dress code: This is an outdoor tour, so come dressed comfortably. Sunscreen and hat are a good idea. Stay hydrated! Getting going: At the time of your tour, we will assign you to a golf cart and a tour guide. You will load up and be on your way. **In winter, from early November until about the end of February, part of the 5:15 pm tour occurs after sunset. We will tailor the tour so that we showcase murals and streets that are well lit.
