On arrival at the jewelry-making studio, you’ll get to know your guide and listen to an introduction that details the importance of emeralds in Colombia—which supplies 90% of the emeralds in the world. After delving deeper into pre-colonial history and Colombian culture, you’ll start work on your bespoke ring. Choose your emerald after learning about the different qualities and minerals of each precious stone on offer, and then decide on your design, stone shape, and material. Then, your personal *orfebre* (jewelry master) will guide you through each stage of the process. Once your ring is ready, you can pose for photographs wearing your new favorite piece.
