What you'll see & do

  • Day 1: Cusco – Km 82 – Llactapata – Hatunchaca - After breakfast in your hotel, meet your tour guide at 6:30 am and drive to KM. 82, the beginning of the Inca Trail. After breakfast, pass the checkpoint, and you’ll start hiking for 6 hours to the Campsite located at Hatunchaca Village (3000 m / 9843 ft.)We will pick you up from your hotel around 5:00 am, and we will drive to KM. 82 – arriving at approximately 8.30 am. After a delicious breakfast, we will head straight to the checkpoint to begin your Inca TreXperience! It’s a relatively easy two-hour walk to Patallacta, the first Inca site along the trail. From a unique, secluded location, we will enjoy the breathtaking views of this ancient city throughout – After a delicious lunch. We will walk for another two hours to the first campsite located in Hatunchaca, arriving at approximately 5:00 pm. Your tent, a snack, and a hot drink will be waiting for you. There will be time to rest and enjoy the view of the mountains before dinner. * Campsite Altitude: 3000 m / 9843 ft. * Highest altitude: 3000 m / 9843 ft. * Duration: 6 hours * Distance: 12 km / 7.5 miles * Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner with Local organic products * Accommodation: camping, massage, and drinks available * Difficulty: easy to moderate
  • Day 2: Hatunchaca – Warmiwañuska – Pacaymayu - We will wake you up bright and early with a hot cup of coffee or coca tea. This day will be the most challenging, and after breakfast, it’s a 4-hour trek uphill to Llulluchapampa, where we will enjoy a well-earned lunch. To later continue 2-hour uphill to Dead Woman’s Pass. At 4215m / 13829ft., this is the highest point along the Inca trail. At the summit, we will take time to appreciate the serenity of this location while your guide completes a traditional offering ceremony to the Apus (local Gods). After a 2-hour downhill trek to Pacaymayu Valley, where we will eat dinner and spend the night. * Campsite Altitude: 3600m – 11811ft * Highest altitude: 4215m / 13829ft * Distance: 10 km / 6.2 miles * Duration: 8 hours * Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner with Local organic products * Accommodation: camping, massage, and drinks available * Difficulty: moderate to difficult
  • Day 3: Pacaymayu – Chaquicocha – Phuyupatamarca - After breakfast in the middle of two majestic mountains, echoes of waterfalls, and the river, we will begin climbing the second mountain. The second pass is an easier 2-hours climb, and we will take time to explore two Inca sites along the way; RuncuRaccay and Sayacmarca. Both of them located in the cloud forest – offering magnificent views – It’s then a 20-minute walk to the lunch place at Chaquicocha (dry lake, 3600m / 11811 ft.), fed and energized we will continue for 2 more hours until Phuyupatamarka (City in the Clouds) with spectacular views of the Urubamba River and the Machu Picchu mountain, and Intipata (Terraces of the Sun). Where is hour campsite and you will be able to admire a beautiful sunset over the Vilcabamba mountain range before dinner, with an unobstructed view of the constellations, this is the perfect place to stargaze! * Campsite Altitude: 3600m – 11811ft * Highest altitude: 4000m – 13123ft * Distance: 13 km / 8 miles * Duration: 9 hours * Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner with Local organic products * Accommodation: camping, massage, and drinks available * Difficulty: moderate
  • Day 4: Phuyupatamarca – Wiñaywayna – Machu Picchu Pueblo - With the hard part well and truly over, you can relax and enjoy the easiest and arguably most interesting day of the trek. Today’s route is extremely varied, and it is only a 5-hour walk to Machu Picchu. Along the way, you will pass through several different ecosystems. We will visit two Inca sites, Phuyupatamarka (City in the Clouds) with spectacular views of the Urubamba River and the Machu Picchu mountain and Intipata (Terraces of the Sun). At Intipata, there will be time to rest and take in your magical surroundings. We will reach Wiñay Wayna at approximately 11:00 am to have lunch, and you can then enjoy some free time to relax and unwind in this important Inca site – where your guide will explain the history of this remarkable location. After lunch, we will walk for an hour to the Sungate, taking in the stunning views along the way. On a clear day, you can watch the spectacular sunset over Machu Picchu from the Sungate, which is truly an unforgettable sight. We will then start our one-hour descent towards Macchu Picchu. We will arrive late and take photos of the sacred Inca city while it is almost empty. To later take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, dinner in a Local Restaurant and spent the night in a hotel. * Campsite Altitude: 2000 m / 6562 ft. * Highest altitude: 3600m – 11811ft * Distance: 10km – 6 miles * Duration: 6 hours * Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner * Accommodation: 4-star hotel * Difficulty: moderate
  • Day 5: Machu Picchu (Lost City of The Incas) – Cusco - On our final day, we have to get up very early to prepare for the highlight of your TreXperience; visiting Machu Picchu – the Lost City of the Incas. We will go straight to the line to wait for the first bus going up to Machu Picchu. Arriving at the sky brightens. On a clear day, you can watch the spectacular sunrise over Machu Picchu, which is truly an unforgettable sight. Your guide will take you on a 3 to 4-hour comprehensive tour of the city before leaving you in Machu Picchu to explore on your own or climb either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (must be booked as far in advance as possible). After finishing the tour, you will have lunch at Tinkuy Restaurant in Machu Picchu to later Take the Exclusive Panoramic train back to Cusco, where the Deluxe Inca Trail ends.
