Dating back to the 1st century BC, the villa covered an area of about 320,000 square feet and was divided into two sections: the maritime villa and the countryside residence. Today, only the ruins of the structure remain, which can be reached by both land and sea.

It takes its name from the Roman citizen Pollio Felice—a prominent member of a noble family from Pozzuoli and owner of a villa whose ruins are still visible nearby, in the area of Calcarella.This small village consists mostly of fishermen's houses. The beach, which offers a panoramic view of Mount Vesuvius, features a shoreline made primarily of pebbles and sand.
