Redrib Helicopter Experience
Try the exciting combination of riding a RIB boat and a flying a helicopter during the same day! See Helsinki City from above and enjoy our unique archipelago from a new perspective. We land on an island, where you can experience a survival suit swim, enjoy an archipelago snack and more. The fast RIB boat takes you back to the city ending a perfect day, now flying low if you are especially in to speed and adventure.
What you'll see & do
- ✓The day starts with a helicopter tour starting from Helsinki-Vantaa airport. You can choose between your own transport or order a private chauffeur from your hotel to the departing airport. On the H -platform you will meet the helicopter pilot and the crew for departure info. After the take off procedure you will see the city of Helsinki in a flyover, while enjoying a glass of complimentary champagne. The tour takes you over the archipelago with over 178.000 islands in an approx 20 min. flight in to the eastern archipelago. Here we land on the bare cliffs on one of these islands. We choose a natural state open air island with covered grilling facilities, dressing room and dry outdoor toilet or an island with all modern facilities like saunas and indoor toilets, dinner and lunch facilities according to your booking and weather conditions. On the island our REDRIB host will welcome you. We start to prepare for either the survival suit swim or the nature walk with archipelago guiding. This program will take approx 1 hour. On the survival suit swim you can try how it feels to float around in cold or icy water staying warm and dry. We have all the equipments needed for this experience, you can come as you are. In the colder season we recommend a wool sweater or a thin down wind jacket under the waterproof survival suit. Our supervisor will stay with you in the water for the whole time. After and during the survival suit swim you hear a short briefing about hypothermia, resque at sea and more useful information. The swim is followed by a relaxing archipelago snack either in front of a camp fire or indoors, according to location. If you have booked extras as a sauna and / or lunch / dinner, these will take place indoors in modern facilities. After the relaxing moment it is time to prepare for the speed drive with the RIB boat back to Helsinki. You will get all equipment needed for the ride from us according to weather conditions such as high quality whole body floating suits or jackets with spray hoods, life west and speed goggles. After a safety briefing we start the RIB boat tour tor Helsinki. The drive takes approx 45 min. We drive between the islands and open sea according to weather conditions and passenger preferences. If you are especially adventurously minded, we take the outer route on a low flight dancing on the way on our journey back to Helsinki. Here you get a impression of what a rigid RIB boat is capable of. Or you simply have a laid back high speed tour through the beautiful archipelago. Variations in routes and island stops may apply due to weather conditions. Severe weather or sudden weather changes my affect departure times, or days as well as program layout. Variations in lunch menu may apply. We do consider your dietary if notified in advance. Boat driving speed is always according to weather conditions and passenger capabilities: Safety is our highest priority and is never compromised. Good to know
You can come as you are, but outdoor seasonal clothing and outdoor trekking shoes are highly recommended. No high heels or business shoes, please. The helicopter cabin is heated. On the island we have all the equipment you need for the survival suit swim and the RIB boat ride back to Helsinki. Please do not bring any bags since space in the helicopter is very limited. Children from 6 years accompanied by their parents are welcome. Please keep in mind that boat speeding is kept limited if small children are on board. This trip is of easy physical level. You can attend this tour with regular physical capabilities, although you have to be able get in and out of the boat on different piers, walk on nature paths, in nature or on cliffs on tours with island stops. Unfortunately, this tour is not designed to attend with a wheel chair for safety reasons.
